Collection: OVÉ PICTURES

We are Ové. Artists, women, friends, mothers. Some things we say out loud, others we draw – especially those that are harder to put into words. We transform an ordinary bread roll into a symbolic object – a tribute to the beauty of everyday things. It evokes poverty and feast, the decay of society and the building of community. Or perhaps even more. In our drawings, the roll is not just an object, but a character – a figure, a hero of stories. Slightly comical yet gentle, with a smile and a touch of irony, it becomes a bearer of cultural identity and our own legend. Under the name Ové Pictures, Michaela Čopíková and Veronika Obertová create animation, films, design, and artworks across traditional and new media. Formally, their work has gradually shifted from classic animation toward more diverse forms and overlaps. Their works have been presented at numerous international festivals and have received awards both in Slovakia and abroad.
